Technician Scaling Teeth

Did you know that the number one disease in dogs and cats is gingivitis or gum disease? Approximately 70% of pets by age three have gingivitis and the need for dental prophylaxis (teeth cleaning). We have a dedicated dental suite including digital oral radiography as a practical commitment to our philosophy or preventive healthcare. We are also committed to educating you on how to practice home oral care for your pets.

All dental procedures get intra oral radiographs to detect issues under the gums. Did you know that 30% of all pets have oral pain and 30% of normal teeth have pathology under the gums that only intra oral radiographs will show? We believe healthy mouth can add years to your pet’s life and save you potentially hundreds to thousands of dollars.

We are now recommending a sealant called Sanos to protect the teeth at the gum line and prevent plaque accumulation. As oral cleaning and surgery requires anesthetic, we require all cases have an intravenous catheter & IV fluids, pre & post op antibiotics needed as well as proper pain management. All extractions are done by the attending Veterinarian and our Standard of Care dictates all extractions will have the gums sutured (gingival flaps) to prevent the pain from a dry socket. We also have the best patient monitoring devices and body heating devices as well as a dedicated anesthetic nurse, whom is with the veterinarian from start to finish. We are proud of our Dental suite and the inherent capabilities with which it provides: a higher standard of care and outcome for our dental/oral surgery patients. We are more than happy to give you a tour at any time.
